I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. At school, I covered my notebooks with drawings. Friends would sometimes ask me to draw something in their diaries, and I was always happy to oblige. I filled kilometres of paper this way, although I never went on to study art formally.

I was born in Warsaw, Poland, and now live in Prague, Czech Republic. For many years, art was something I carried alongside the rest of my life: university, office jobs, travelling, and all the things that fill adulthood. It was only after turning forty that I began to take my artistic practice seriously and consciously develop my skills. I now continue to study and refine my craft under the guidance of an experienced artist at Atelier Praga Prima.

I draw and paint almost anything. I am especially drawn to things that might easily go unnoticed. Sometimes I can spend two hours drawing a crumpled plastic cup. One such drawing has been sitting on a shelf in my home for over a year, and it still makes me happy whenever I look at it.

I work from my home studio, usually in silence or with an audiobook playing in the background. I read a lot, and I listen even more — especially while painting. I still draw frequently and have a particular fondness for fine-liners and ink, which allow me to capture an idea quickly and directly.

Oil painting is, for me, both a challenge and an adventure. I love its physical quality, the depth of its colours and the way it demands a slower, more patient approach. Acrylics give me something quite different: speed, energy and the freedom to work more dynamically. In drawing, I enjoy the immediacy — the possibility of catching a subject before the moment passes.

For me, making art is not a destination. It is a way of looking, a continuous process of discovering, searching and learning. I am still exploring where it can take me.
